Teaching is one of my greatest passions – I love working with people of all ages to explore new ideas, develop skills, build confidence and share learning. I have over a decade of experience designing and leading workshops, training programmes and youth projects in schools, community settings and with charities and arts organisations.
Below are some examples of my work as a freelance educator.
Creative Facilitation

In 2024, I was selected as a Virtual Writer in Residence by Melbourne City of Literature. I was partnered with a library with a network across Victoria and I collaborated with them to facilitate three community workshops: building a writing practice for women, writing for wellbeing for older residents, how to generate story ideas for a school.

I’ve been running creative writing workshops for Edinburgh Crisis Centre since May 2024. I design workshops to share writing tools and activities focused on boosting participants’ wellbeing, and create a safe space for creative exploration for both experienced and brand new writers.

I originally worked with Write Like a Grrrl to adapt their introductory creative writing course for a younger audience. In collaboration with Arts Emergency, I facilitated six weekly sessions with a group of young women aged 16-24.
Since January 2024, I have been organising and teaching Write Like a Grrrl Courses for adults based in Edinburgh.

I began working with Super Power Agency in 2024 as a freelance workshop leader. In this role, I designed and led creative workshops for primary and secondary school students across Edinburgh. Each creative programme with young people results in a published book.

I was commissioned to design and lead creative workshops on two of Tiny Changes projects. One was an introduction to writing for wellbeing workshop for students at Napier and the other was exploring anxiety and wellbeing support with primary students in Leith.
Facilitation with Charities

I worked with Mental Health UK as an Associate Trainer, delivering their flagship youth programme in schools. This involved training and supporting teachers to deliver the course materials and co-delivering eight sessions to young people. The programme focused on building young people’s resilience and mental health awareness.

I worked with The Mix as an Associate Trainer, delivering the intensive volunteer training course for their young people’s helpline . The course covered topics such as active listening, non-judgemental communication, safeguarding and risk assessment.

I was commissioned by Arts Emergency to design and lead a workshop for their staff team focused on youth mental health awareness. Drawing from my extensive experience in this field, I led a session tailored to their organisation and activities, helping them to consider how they can ensure their programme supports and considers young people’s wellbeing.

I was brought into Rethink Mental Illness to work on a co-production project based across three London boroughs, funded by local CAMHS commissioners. I led the delivery of two workstreams: delivering mental health awareness training for teachers, in partnership with CAMHS and young champions; and co-designing and co-delivering a mental health conference with young champions, attended by students from five local schools.
